Dear Young Person,
A few questions:
1. Do you hear of the daily killing in Nigeria?
2. Do you know people of all religions and tribes are killed daily?
3. Do you hear of the deplorable state of our institutions and structures?
3. Do you know that elected officials are to be held to account when they underperform?
4. Do you know that as part of the Social Contract, you elect public service holders and they fulfill their own part of the contract by doing their job of providing services/amenities and keep you safe?
5. Do you know that if we do not understand the significance of the social contract, we will keep sinking?
6. As young people, we are sinking faster than any other age group?
Stop looking at me like you do not know what I am talking about. When you keep justifying public office holders that are underperforming, you are literally contributing to sinking our boat. Until we understand this and change the narrative, we will keep sinking, we will remain broke, we will remain unsafe and we will remain unemployed and very hungry.
