The QUT School of Public Health and Social Work holds a monthly School forum where academics within the school share updates and discuss issues that facilitate the growth of the School.

In May 2021, I was a guest speaker at the School forum where I shared with academics our plans for IM2021. I also used the opportunity to solicit their support towards the conference.

It was on this premise that I was invited to give the academics an update on the conference. The Committee received praises and kind words from the Ag Head of School, Prof. Sharon Bentley and other academics present.

The highlight of the day was when the committee members present received loud applause from academics for their hard work towards IM2021.

In the midst of smiles and claps, I finished my speech with the following words:

“These are the guys that worked tirelessly day and night to ensure the conference was a success so if you want to organise a successful conference or event, speak to these guys”😀

It was such a humbling moment for us all as students to be applauded by our teachers and supervisors.
