Sunshine Coast Monday 29th August – Thursday 1 September 2022
The Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) is Australasia’s peak professional body representing healthcare professionals working in HIV, viral hepatitis, other Blood Borne Viruses (BBVs), Sexual and Reproductive Health (Conference Handbook, 2022).
Being a member of ASHM in the early days of my doctoral journey gave me an insight into the HIV field in this region. As a student who yearned for growth, I attended the HIV&AIDS Sexual Health 2020 Virtual and was intrigued by the incredible work of researchers and professionals in this space.
Building on that learning, this year under the guidance of my amazing supervisors Dr. Julie Anne King and Dr. Jo Durham from QUT School of Public Health and Social Work, I have:
- My abstract accepted for presentation.
- Applied and was awarded a scholarship to support my participation at the conference.
My participation over these 4 days will be premised on learning about the developments in the field of HIV&AIDS. Having the opportunity to dessiminate my findings at such an important platform improves my confidence and validates the significance of my research.
I look forward to learning and sharing my findings here. If you are in the Sunshine Coast, feel free to connect. You can catch me on stand 55.
Special thanks to QUT (Queensland University of Technology) who have funded my research in the past 3 years.
