This is an excerpt from the email I received from my Principal supervisor today. It made me smile. It made my family smile as you can see😀.
However, the process of getting to the point of getting such amazing feedback was not entirely smooth but I have chosen to smile and be grateful for the experiences and learning that came with the process.
As we climb our ladder of lives, we face failures and success.
We cry and smile at different stages of our journey. These experiences are what make us human.
The tears and smiles are helping us to write our story. They make us stronger.
Although our desire is to always smile and be happy, the imperfection of life will once in a while throw us into a ditch not to frustrate us but to prepare us for what is to come. Sometimes your smile and joy are bigger if you have experienced some pain or failures.
I am not sure what stage you are in on your journey. I am not sure if you are currently smiling or crying. If the latter is the case for you now, be consoled in the realisation that it is a temporary phase which is preparing you for your smile tomorrow.
It may be difficult to navigate the tears now but when you eventually do, you will look back and smile.
Yes! We may wish to always smile but as humans who seek growth, we will smile and we will cry. WE NEED BOTH
